Some new lore is always welcome. I don't know the particular timeline or whether this is a simultaneous event with OTO's mainline Chapter 1, but it seems this party got trapped in the game as they were fighting the Dungeon, hence the recording and dungeon tracker. Honestly, Dungeons haven't been fully delved into in the main storyline, so I'm eager to see this. The environmental storytelling is my favorite part of OTO, since it feels like I'm witnessing a different world and becoming a part of it.
The boss being the historical figure spoken about in Rin's tale is interesting. It's disturbing to see him used like a puppet, hanging from that creature like a executed victim at the gallows. It illustrates the tragedy.
I have a lot more to say, but I will save my analysis for later.
